Tufted, glandular-hairy perennial up to 30cm, from woody caudex (persistent, underground woody stem of some perennial plants). Leaves crowded basally, narrowly oblanceolate, subentire to toothed; flowerheads radiate, solitary on elongate, leafy flower stalks, yellow, white or pink, with dark reverse.
