The 2019 Flower Festival was enjoyed by the thousands who visited over the 4 days of the long weekend in September.

Spectacular banks of golden pincushions and pink and cream 'king' and 'queen' proteas greeted visitors in the Floral Hall, the display designed and executed by Leon Kluge and Tristan Woudberg, the Chelsea Flower Show 'gold medal' award winning team, and aided by the HBS flower arranging ladies.

The Specimen Room showcased nearly 400 labelled specimens, including Fernkloof restios and trees, and the walls displayed a photographic exhibit of fynbos plants and their uses.

The Fybos Cafe served up delicious lunches and teas with waitrons hurrying to keep up with demand.

Customers visited the Fernkloof Indigenous Nursery and came away happy with wheelbarrow loads of healthy plants.

The Market Hub was abuzz at all times, the stalls providing items to purchase from 'cut flowers' to 'herbal and cosmetic products' to 'botanical themed decor items' to 'laser-cut lampshades' and 'botanical prints'.

The Eco Tent showcased exhibits by Whale Coast Conservation on chameleons and Citizen Science projects. The live eagles and owls were gently handled by young and old and 'snake handling' skills were demonstrated.

The Speakers Corner held a series of well attended talks from 'painting with plant sap' to 'herbal remedies and their uses', and visitors enjoyed the educational walks through the lovely Fernkloof Gardens.

There was much, much more -
