Description

An erect shrub up to 1m tall with narrow overlapping leaves 5-8mm long. Flowers are smooth, shiny and dark red, up to 3cm long,  borne singly at tips of short branchlets; the stigmas are sometimes just visible at the mouth with the style projecting slightly. Regenerates rapidly from a fire-resistant rootstock after fire.
