Total length 56-60cm - tail 13-16cm - weight over 3kg. Soft woolly hair is greyish or buffy sprinkled with black - underparts pure white or with buffy bands. Fluffy tail black above - white blow. The ears are very large - about 14cm long (larger in females). Prefers habitat with good cover of bushes or scrub. Nocturnal and solitary - lying up in 'forms' in thick cover during the day with ears folded back. Feeds on grass.
