Description

Annual up to 30cm, glandular-hairy below. Leaves toothed; flowers in cymules, bilabiate, tube short and inflated above, white with back of tube orange; stamens inserted in upper third of corolla tube.

Latin: manus = hand; -ulus = diminutive: referring to the flowers being in the shape of a small hand.

Latin: exiguus = scanty, small: referring to plant's dainty, small habit.

This species is listed as Vulnerable due to habitat loss by urbanisation and by invasion of alien vegetation.

Habitat

Mainly sandy flats and slopes
