Description

Erect or spreading, thinly cobwebby shrublet. Leaves narrow, small, spreading, twisted; dense, rounded flowerheads at branch tips; small florets may be pink, mauve and sometimes white.

Greek: stoibe, stuffing: referring to use of this shrubby plant by early settlers for packing wine jars and making brooms.

Habitat

Sandstone slopes and coastal slopes; common at low altitude
