Caulescent geophyte with a stem up to 30cm, often branching; bulb with hairy scales. Leaves in threes, leaflets bilobed to middle, often silky beneath. Flowers dark pink to purple (sometimes reddish) with yellow tubes, flower stalk (pedunclle) is articulated.
