Description

Dioecious (male and female flowers on separate plants) spreading shrub up to 60cm. Leaves elliptic, rounded below, sometimes toothed above, margins revolute, gland-dotted; flowers in robust, axillary spikes with large imbricate bracts.

Fruits warty, 2-4mm in diameter.

After: Christian F.F. von Krausse (1812-1890), German botanist and traveller, Director of the Natural History Museum at Stuttgart and a plant collector in South Africa.
