Monoecious or dioecious, prostrate leafy perennial up to 10cm, stems red, glabrescent. Leaves oblanceolate, often coarsely toothed; flowers in axillary clusters, pink, female flowers sessile (stalkless), male flowers on filiform leaf stalks.
