Sprawling lax white-woolly shrublet up to 30cm. Leaves oblanceolate. Flower heads discoid, crowded in dense, woolly corymbs, white; bracts reddish in centre.

Latin: vellus = fleece or down; referring to the woolly leaves and corymbs.
