Description

Decumbent plant up to 30cm with a woody stoloniferous to tuberous rootstock. Stems are slender and covered with long hairs. Leaves are usually 5-palmately lobed and silky, often with a purplish-brown to dark red horseshoe-shaped zonal marking; stipules broadly ovate; inflorescence is umbel-like with 3-6 but sometimes up to 15 flowers; usually white to cream flowers, occasionally with pink or red markings; 7 fertile stamens are present.

Sandy and stony places, often found in disturbed areas
