Description

A single-stemmed, rounded shrub up to 1 -5m high with horizontally drooping branches. The leaves (20-80mm long, 20-45mm wide) have a rounded tip with up to six glandular teeth. Flowerheads (100-200mm wide) are yellow - orange or crimson and are borne at right angles to the stem. This is a popular garden subject. Much of the head's appeal and beauty undoubtedly lies in the long, stout styles and their very prominent pollen presenters which produce the pincushion effect.
