Erect sticky shrublet up to 1m. Leaves are 3-nate, very small with large terminal glands; flowers tiny, obconic (inversely conical, with apex directed downwards), dirty white in colour with white papery corollas; very large stigmas.

This species and Erica urceolata have the smallest flowers of all ericas in SW Cape, the former distinguished by extreme stickiness all over.

Together with Erica hispidula it is the most common of all ericas.

Wind pollinated.

Latin: muscosus = sticky; referring to the extreme stickiness of this species.
