Description

Erect shrublet with slender lax branches up to 80cm. Leaves are 2(3)nate; flowers are small to medium, calycine (calyx enlarged and predominant over the corolla), narrowly urn-shaped with spreading lobes; pale yellow to white in Hermanus area, deep yellow is the dominant colour form elsewhere.

Pollinated by bees.

Although luteus means deep yellow, some forms are white to cream.

Habitat

Middle to upper slopes often in moist rock faces
