Description

Tufted perennial up to 35cm with scabrid, roughly, hairy stems. Leaves are lanceolate with gland-tipped hairs and silky at the base; flowers are usually white, sometimes mauve, in dense flower heads; bracts rough and sticky.

Latin: villi, long hairs: referring to the hairy leaves and stems of this species.
