Description

Rhizomatous geophyte up to 30cm, spreading by stolons. Stems rounded, usually unbranched. Leaves shorter than flower stem, sub-terete to ellipsoid, 1.5-2mm wide, tough and fibrotic. Clusters of sessile bright blue flowers; style is minutely 3 notched; prominently keeled boat-shaped bracts are rust-brown, transparent on edges.

Latin: iuncus = a rush; folium = a leaf; referring to rush-like leaves of this species.
